Over a three-week period we visited 25 live sites and offices with our classic van, dropping in to share the anniversary celebrations with our teams, sharing some memories along the way, as well as a slice of cake! Below we take a look at the highlights from week 1:

The classic van trip – week 1

The van tour kicked off in fitting style, with our 3 Founders driving the classic van from our Wembley HQ as we started the first leg of the tour. After an epic 14-hour journey from Wembley, including a 3 hour ferry crossing into Rosslaire, the classic van arrived in Ballyporeen, hometown of our Founders. After an overnight pit stop, the classic van took a trip down memory lane, taking in several local landmarks, including the high school.

Day two of the tour saw an unscheduled stop at the Guinness Brewery, before the classic van made its first site visit of the tour at our O’Devaney Gardens site, before dropping into our Dublin office to say hello and serve some cake.

The classic van arrives in mainland UK

After an overnight stop in Belfast, followed by an early morning ferry crossing into Cairnryan, the classic van arrived in mainland UK, making the first of three stops in Glasgow to meet the team at our office, The Octagon.

Thursday saw the first double stop of the tour as the classic van visited our teams at Glasgow University – and even managed a cheeky detour to the Tenants Brewery enroute to our site at Atlantic Square. However, the day did not end too well as the classic van picks up a parking ticket whilst taking a well-earned pit stop!

The final leg of week one saw the classic van arrive at Edinburgh Airport, where the site team were joined by colleagues from local sites - Jonny Walker Experience and India Buildings. Not only did the van attract attention from our site teams, also the local constabulary – luckily no speeding tickets, just a classic car enthusiast who stopped for a look at the classic van and the opportunity for a selfie!
