The enabling works package, scheduled to last 28 weeks, and constrained by an extremely tight site boundary - the M5 motorway and canal to the south, residential housing to the north and industrial units to the east - includes:

• Removal of all trees and vegetation
• Site clearance
• Demolition of existing structures and walls
• Removal of existing building foundations
• Additional geotechnical campaign
• Crushing existing concrete pavement for reuse
• Cut and fill earthworks
• Construction of working platforms
• Removal, interfacing and diverting existing site services
• Construction of new retaining walls on northeast and south boundaries
• Trenching to enable installation of new utilities
• Temporary site drainage
• Perimeter fencing

We hope to secure the main civils, sub and superstructure package following the successful completion of this stage of the project.

The Kelvin Energy Recovery Facility further adds to our portfolio of energy projects that we’ve successfully delivered across the UK and Ireland which include: Keadby 2, Millerhill Energy from Waste, Ferrybridge Energy from Waste, Lostock Power Station and Grousemount Windfarm.
